Gordon’s Bay is a picturesque village on the far eastern edge of the Cape Town Metropolitan area. It is nestled around a tiny bay, with the Hottentots Holland mountain range on the one side, and False Bay on the other.
The town is easily accessible from Cape Town International Airport with an easy 30 minute drive on the N2 highway. It is close to the wine routes of the Helderberg and Stellenbosch and is the gateway to the Overberg region.
Gordon’s Bay consists of the old village, situated around the old harbour and Bikini Beach, the mountainside on the lower slopes of the Hottentots-Holland mountains overlooking False Bay, and the low-lying suburbs close to the main beach.
Gordon’s Bay boasts 2 harbours, and beautiful, safe swimming beaches as well as horse riding, hiking trails, tennis and bowling clubs. The Cape Winelands are only 10 minutes away, and there are 5 championship golf courses within a 15 minute drive.
Nature lovers flock here because of the glorious hiking trails and breathtaking scenic drives along its coastline, a perfect spot to watch the whales and dolphins between July and December, or see the penguins at Betty’s Bay.
