Badplaas is a small town on the R38 road in eastern Mpumalanga. It lies at the base of the Ndlumudlumu Mountains.
The famous hot water spring at Forever Resort is the main attraction in Badplaas. The mineral springs bubble out at a rate of 30,000 liters per hour. It used to be known by the local tribes as “Emanzana” which translates to healing waters.
Activities in and around Badplaas include:
* Birding, the area is blessed with more than 215 bird species.
* Forever Resort offers activities like horse riding, game viewing, and walking trails. There is also plenty of game viewing at various game farms.
* Hiking, there is a walk that will take the visitor along a 100-year old water canal up to a waterfall with views over the valley.
