Boston is a small town situated in the Mkhomazi and Elands River valley. The town offers a tranquil ambiance with scenic walks and fish-filled streams or dams, plus easy access to the adrenalin-fuelled pursuits for which the area is renowned.
The area is only about an hour from Durban and with its rolling hills, rivers, lush forests, waterfalls and dams it is an ideal escape into nature.
Activities include paragliding, trout fishing, birding, rafting and hiking. There are a number of endangered bird species in the area including the very rare Cape Parrot, the Wattled Crane and the Blue Swallow. There are only 360 breeding pairs of the Cape Parrot left in the world.
The area is a hive of activity and an annual Spring Fling is held at the Boston Country Club, a festive occasion where everyone can enjoy the social scene with good food and wine.
