Otjozondjupa’s outstanding landmark is the Waterberg Plateau Park. The capital is Otjiwarongo, the largest town in the region. Okahandja and Otjiwarongo are well known for cattle farming. The Otavi and Grootfontein districts are the granary of Namibia.
Twenty four kilometres west of Grootfontein lies the huge Hoba meteorite. At over 60 tons, it is the largest known meteorite on earth.
68 Kilometres south-east of Otjiwarongo, the Waterberg Plateau Park elevates high above the plains of the Kalahari. It is named after the prominent table mountain that rises from the plateau, the Waterberg.
The park has over 200 different species of bird with some rare species of small antelope on the lower hills of the mountain.
