This beautiful 5 Star Guest House is situated in Hout Bay, a fishing village in the Western Cape. Nestled in the natural vegetation of Hout Bay and just a stone´s throw from the picturesque fishing harbour, we offer a welcome retreat from the hustle & bustle of everyday living.
Villa Afrique offers you panoramic views over the bay, beach, working harbour and surrounding mountains. Spacious well appointed rooms, all sea facing with tea tray, complimentary sherry, safe, towel gowns, hair dryer and crisp percale cotton linen. We have 4 tastefully furnished en suite luxury rooms overlooking the working fishing harbour, the bay and Chapmans Peak. Also available are 2 self catering rooms which are fully equipped and located in a separate building. The en-suite bathrooms also have underfloor heating and heated towel rails.
Two minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. Twenty minutes drive to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Constantia Wine Estates, golf courses, city centre and Cape Town International airport. The marina offers daily trips to Duiker Island where seals and the occasional whales can be viewed. Deep sea fishing, sunset cruises and diving expeditions are also on offer.
When tired of all the sightseeing and hunger takes over then there’s nothing better than eating at one of the local restaurants where a variety of fresh fish is on offer. Hout Bay has quite a large variety of restaurants. From the famous seafood restaurants such as Mariners Wharf, to Italian, Sushi, German and steak houses. For the family, restaurants like the Dunes and Primi Piatti and the Lookout Deck in the Harbour.
The Chapmans Peak drive is one of the most spectacular scenic drives in Africa if not the world. It opened in 1923 and took 7 years to complete. This road will take you to Simons Town, Fish Hoek and Cape Point. There are also numerous picnic spots and sites along it’s route as well as hiking trails up the mountain. Watch the whales as they frolick in the bay or the fishing boats returning with their catch of the day.
