Swaziland, one of the smallest countries in Africa, has a reputation for friendliness in Southern Africa. It contains several large game parks and reserves, which are sponsored by the government and are popular tourist destinations.

Compared to other countries in the region, Swaziland is
known for its civility and peacefulness, despite similar problems with poverty and one of the world's worst AIDS crises.

During the apartheid, Swaziland was best known for its casinos and nightclubs – pleasures not allowed in South Africa at that time. Nowadays it is a breath of fresh air after travelling through South Africa. It is a complete change of pace, especially if you spend time in the countryside, away from Mbabane and
Manzini.

Wildlife watching , superb hiking, horse riding, climbing, friendly people, the laid-back ambience, the stunning panoramas and the traditional culture, still very much alive, are the country’s new tourist attractions.

Travelling in Swaziland is easy. Accommodation suited for all budgets, ranging from cheap Bed and Breakfast hostels or hotels to 5 star lodges is easy to find and the main roads are well maintained. In Mbabane there is not much to see or do, but the best craft shops and atractions are found in the nearby Ezulwini Valley.
For the best wildlife, go to Mkhaya Game Reserve, the best hiking is done in the Malolotja Nature Reserve and the cycling or walking tourist has to visit the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. Swaziland can be done in 2 or 3 days, but it has enough on offer to stay at least a week.
