High on the Northern Grass and Wetlands of Mpumalanga lies this beautiful Sandstone Guest Farm, in the centre of South Africa’s only Lake District. We are on the N17 just 5 km outside Chrissiesmeer and 40km east of Ermelo,250 km from Johannesburg. The ideal stop over on your way to Swaziland, KZN, The Kruger and The Berg.
All the buildings and cottages are built from Natural Sandstone. Each of our cottages and rooms are designed to suit different needs, offering quality interior and a luxurious country atmosphere. Florence Guest Farm has got 3 cottages and 3 rooms.
a -The Old Barn Cottage with two fully equipped en-suite bedrooms, living room/kitchen with open heath fire place. From the rooms you have a clear view on the Lake. Sleep private 4, max 7.
b - The Sandstone Cottage has one en-suite bedroom, living room/kitchen with a fireplace. From the outside braai-facility you have a view on the Lake. Sleep private 2 max 4.
c - The Rondavel’s living and bedroom are one room, therefore you can sleep in front of the fire and have a view of the lake from your bed. It also has an en-suite bathroom and separate kitchen. Sleep private 2 and max 4.
d - The Lavender Room with its unique paint techniques has an en-suite bathroom, fridge, coffee making facilities, TV, radio and private garden entrance. Sleep private 2.
e - The Zebra Room with its touch of Africa has an en-suite bathroom, fridge, coffee making facilities, TV, radio and private garden entrance. Sleep private 2.
f - The Cork-Oak Room with its beautiful skylight en-suite bathroom, fridge, coffee making facilities, TV, radio and private garden entrance. Sleep private 2.
Our dining room offers an unusual exclusive venue with fireplaces and a view on one of the lakes. We offer all meals or self catering. English breakfasts and traditional farm cooking at dinner time with fresh home baked bread. Wherever we can, we use our own organic vegetables.
Our 2008 rates are:
Self Catering – R 190 ppps, children u 10 – R 90
Bed and Breakfast - R 230 ppps, children u 10 – R 130
Dinner and Bed - R 260 ppps, children u 10 – R 160
Dinner, Bed and Breakfast - R 290 ppps, children u 10 – R 190
You are coming to a working organic farm and you are welcome to participate in the daily farming activities, sheep, cattle and organic vegetables.

* Canoeing on the lakes: bring own gear.

Florence Guest Farm is situated 5km from Chrissiesmeer on the N17 towards Swaziland.
