Gateside Guesthouse is set in the heart of the tranquil Hilton Village only 10 kilometers from Pietermaritzburg. Luxury accommodation is offered, with scrumptious English breakfasts. The self catering cottages and B&B rooms have breathtaking views across the green pastures and dam, overlooking Pietermaritzburg. Both Hilton College and St. Anne's are within easy reach of Gateside.
Gateside consists of spacious and cosy bedrooms, some with fireplaces and all include DSTV with M-Net channel (in all rooms), cooling fans, hair-dryers, electric blankets and kitchenettes. A delicious full English breakfast is served in the main house.
Guests are very welcome to use the salt water swimming pool and completely relax in peaceful surroundings. There is also a trampoline for the youngsters.
Durban, which has an International airport, is only 50 minutes away so even after a long flight you will soon be at your destination – Gateside Guest House.
Gateside Guesthouse comprises of three family units (sleeping 4 persons) and a further unit which can be either for a family or made up as two double rooms. Secure parking is available onsite.
The Big Studio is an (ground floor) open plan room comprising of two single beds (which can be converted to a King-size double bed), lounge with gas fire-place, dining area and kitchenette. Bathroom en-suite has shower, toilet and wash basin.
The Small Studio (ground floor) offers a double bed, TV and tea-tray, bar fridge, shower and wash basin in the same living area with separate toilet.
The Studio units have an inter-leading door and is ideal for conversion into a family unit.
Tree Tops (1st floor) is a cosy loft style family unit having Queen size bed, two single beds, lounge, dining area and kitchenette. Bathroom ensuite has both shower and Victorian bath. Wall heaters for those chilly evenings.
Tiny Gateside has an open-plan living space made up of a Queen size bed, lounge (with traditional fire-place), dining area and kitchenette. Bathroom en-suite with shower over bath. A separate smaller bedroom with either bunk-beds or one single bed leads off the open plan unit. It also has a private veranda to enjoy those magnificent views.
Gateside Guesthouse is ideally situated; being an hour’s drive away from the beautiful beaches of the Kwazulu Natal coast and a little more than that from the magnificent mountains of the Drakensberg range. We are perfectly positioned as a central point for day trips (or longer) visiting the numerous places of interest within our province. We are in touch with a number of tour guides who offer a variety of trips which can be tailor-made to a single person or groups.
Hilton is also at the entrance to the Midlands Meander. The Meander is exactly that; a choice of routes for a leisurely drive in the country whilst offering many stop-off points at arts & crafts shops, coffee shops & restaurants.
