Situated just under two hours drive from Johannesburg, Emanzini Country Resort is the perfect holiday and weekend  getaway destination. Set in the rolling grasslands of the Eastern Free State, the Resort has spectacular views of neighbouring farms and the Langberg mountain. At the confluence of two spruits, the 49-year-old dam is the creator of a wetland that now hosts a large variety of birdlife. The Resort nests quietly outside the small town of Vrede.Other than just a throughway or stopover, Vrede and its surrounding area is a rewarding tourist destination offering a diversity of attractions, adventures, accommodation, arts, crafts and restaurants. Nearby towns include Memel and Standerton.

Cozy log chalets situated on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the Langeberg Mountain are popular, as well as those nestled under pristine pine trees in the Resort. They offer two bedrooms, kitchenette, lounge and bathroom with showers. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, television and DSTV, and bed linen with extra blankets. Guests only need to provide bath towels. Cosy log cabins offer a more rustic experience, with only two beds.

Thirty three caravan stands are located on the waterfront, and we have two ablution facilities located on either side of the Resort, with hot and cold showers and one bath. We offer some stands with heavy shading (trees) and some that are open for warm sunny days. Stands have electricity points and come with concrete braai slabs - just supply your own braai grid. Emanzini offers a Half-Olympic Pool, Ponies, Sports Bar and Sailors Restaurant for all meals. Backpackers are welcome in our log cabins.

The Resort's Dam is fantastic for waterskiing and wakeboarding as the dam is deep and there are long quiet stretches of water for perfect passes. PWC's are allowed on the dam and we apply standard boating rules of the water when operating a PWC. Our launching facility includes a slipway which is good for any type of vehicle to launch with. The Resort is a night-time wakeboard venue, with floodlights lighting up the main waterfront, providing brilliant visibility.

Our rates are: Chalets - accommodates 4 people, provision may be made for small children and babies. Chalets consist of 2 rooms, one with a double bed and the other with bunk beds. The bathroom is separate with a shower only. R540 p/night. Park Home - accommodates 8 people. 3 rooms with 2 double beds and 2 bunk beds. Separate bathroom with bath. Kitchen is equipped with stove/oven, microwave, fridge and basic cooking utensils. Linen provided. R900 p/night. Cabins - accommodates 2 people only. No kitchen or bathroom. Campers ablution facilities are available. Linen provided. R170 per person per night. Couples Chalet - accommodates 2 people only. 1 room and kitchenette. Thatch roofed private location amongst reeds . Kitchen equipped with hotplate, fridge and basic cooking utensils. Linen provided. R450 p/night Camp Sites - maximum of 6 people per stand. Campers must please provide their own braai grids. Electricity points located on all stands. R200 p/night per 4 persons. R45 per extra person. Pensioners pay R140 p/night per stand. For fishing please book stands 1 - 31 as no fishing is allowed on stands 19 - 32.
